Jameson Williams, wide receiver for the Detroit Lions, recently made bold remarks that put the Minnesota Vikings’ receiving corps in a less-than-flattering light. The Lions and Vikings were the top teams in the NFC North during the 2024 season, each boasting impressive records—Detroit with 15 wins and Minnesota with 14. However, when it came to offensive firepower, Detroit had the upper hand, scoring a whopping 564 points compared to Minnesota’s 432.

At the CSA Autograph show, Williams didn’t hold back when asked to compare his team’s receiving corps to that of the Vikings. While Minnesota’s Jordan Addison attempted to counter Williams’ claim by saying, “Come on man, stop playing,” it was clear that Addison had little to defend his side.

Detroit’s trio of wide receivers—Williams, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Tim Patrick—totaled 206 receptions for 2,658 yards and 22 touchdowns in 2024, making them a nightmare for opposing defenses. In contrast, while Minnesota’s Justin Jefferson is undoubtedly one of the league’s top talents, when it comes to the overall strength of their receiving group, Williams’ opinion that Detroit has the superior corps is likely to resonate with many fans and analysts.

The back-and-forth between the two NFC North rivals adds an entertaining layer of rivalry to the offseason, and it’s clear that the Lions’ offense has become a force to be reckoned with.
