Final Trade Details Revealed for D’Andre Swift Deal Between Eagles and Lions

What started as a straightforward trade for D’Andre Swift has finally reached its conclusion. The Philadelphia Eagles’ deal with the Detroit Lions is now officially settled.

It still feels surreal to see Saquon Barkley on the Eagles’ roster. The man turned in highlight-reel plays and helped bring a Super Bowl title to Philadelphia. His arrival was so impactful that many fans have nearly forgotten the productive backs who came before him.

In back-to-back seasons, Philly’s backfield saw different running backs shine. Miles Sanders had a career year in 2022. Then came D’Andre Swift in 2023, who made the most of his lone season in midnight green.

You might be wondering—why bring this up now? It’s because, just ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay, the full picture of the Swift trade has finally come into focus.

The trade is finally complete, and it favors Philly.

Here’s how it all played out: On April 29, 2023, the Eagles acquired Swift from the Lions in exchange for a 2025 fourth-round pick. The two teams also swapped seventh-round selections as part of the deal.

With the 2023 seventh-rounder they received, the Eagles picked defensive lineman Moro Ojomo from Texas. Detroit used the earlier seventh-round pick to take wide receiver Antoine Green at No. 219 overall.

But here’s where it gets more interesting—Philly ended up re-acquiring that 2025 fourth-round pick (No. 134) from the Lions in a separate trade. So, when all was said and done, the Eagles got Swift, the No. 134 pick, and the seventh-rounder they used for Ojomo, all by giving up just a seventh-round pick in 2023.

It’s no wonder fans often call general manager Howie Roseman a mastermind.

Philly didn’t hold onto pick No. 134 for long. They traded it again during the 2025 Draft, packaging it with pick No. 101 to strike a deal with the Denver Broncos. In return, the Eagles received picks No. 111, 130, and 191.

Denver used the No. 134 pick to select Alabama edge rusher Que Robinson. The Eagles, meanwhile, added Nebraska defensive tackle Ty Robinson at No. 111 and later moved the No. 130 pick in another deal.

And with that, the D’Andre Swift chapter in Philadelphia is officially closed—and it’s safe to say the Eagles came out ahead in their trade with Detroit.
