Detroit Lions defensive star Aidan Hutchinson has officially spoken out to address and shut down a recent wave of bizarre and misleading rumors that have been circulating on social media, particularly Facebook.

In a statement released through his official House of Hutch platform, Hutchinson made it clear that several viral stories associated with his name are entirely false—and likely the result of AI-generated misinformation.

The false claims ranged from Hutchinson supposedly changing positions on the field to donating his entire NFL signing bonus and even purchasing an animal shelter. While the stories might have seemed harmless or even admirable to some, Hutchinson was quick to point out that they are completely fabricated and not grounded in reality.

“Fake AI articles specifically on Facebook have gotten out of control,” Hutchinson warned. “If you did not see it on the House of Hutch, Detroit Lions, Aidan’s social media, or a real/reputable sports news outlet, please DO NOT believe what you read.”

His message comes as online misinformation, particularly content generated by artificial intelligence tools, becomes increasingly common. Athletes, celebrities, and public figures are often targeted by false narratives that can quickly gain traction online—sometimes even faster than legitimate news.

Hutchinson’s proactive move to clear the air reinforces the importance of verifying sources and relying on official channels. He urged fans and followers to be cautious and skeptical of outlandish headlines and to check reputable platforms before believing or sharing any claims involving his name.

The 2022 No. 2 overall draft pick has been a major force for the Lions since entering the league. In his first three seasons, Hutchinson has recorded 122 total tackles, 28.5 sacks, 4 interceptions, and 4 fumble recoveries, establishing himself as one of the top young defenders in the NFL.

As the Lions prepare for a highly anticipated 2025 season—kicking off in the Hall of Fame Game—Hutchinson’s leadership both on and off the field is evident. By addressing these rumors head-on, he not only protected his image but also set a strong example for other athletes dealing with similar issues.

In a digital age where misinformation spreads rapidly, Hutchinson’s message serves as a timely reminder: always double-check your sources, and when in doubt, go straight to the official word.
