Crystal Palace’s boss, Oliver Glasner, has verified that Eberechi Eze’s release clause is no longer valid.
Glasner addressed reporters following their goalless tie with Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.
Eze has been associated with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur this summer. Nonetheless, Spurs have commenced di
scussions with Palace, and there were uncertainties regarding the 27-year-old’s participation at Stamford Bridge.
Glasner opted to launch Eze, and the midfielder even had a goal disallowed.
“His selection came from being a Crystal Palace player, and he’s an excellent Crystal Palace player,” Glasner stated.
“After training all week, there was no reason to exclude him.”
Regarding Eze’s £68m release clause, Glasner stated: “I’m fairly relaxed, but I understand we have two weeks remaining, and Ebs’ clause is no longer active, so it’s up to the club, and we’ll see what unfolds.”
