The Philadelphia Eagles’ defense took center stage in Week 11, frustrating Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions.
Detroit came into the matchup with high hopes of returning to the playoffs in the 2025 NFL season. However, their offensive struggles on Sunday Night Football against the reigning Super Bowl champions might have raised some concerns among fans.
Although Philadelphia has often been celebrated for its high-powered offense, led by Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, and Saquon Barkley, it was the Eagles’ defense that stole the spotlight this time. The unit dominated the Lions, making life extremely difficult for Goff and Detroit’s offensive schemes.
Goff had one of the roughest games of his career since joining Detroit, largely due to relentless pressure from Vic Fangio’s defense. The Lions managed just nine points, marking their lowest regular-season output since October 2023, when they were held to six by Baltimore.
Goff completed only 39 percent of his passes, one of the worst completion rates by an NFL quarterback since 2005, as Detroit fell to a 6-4 record on the season.
