Bobby Taylor is a former Texas A&M player who, despite his departure from the squad without receiving significant playing time, is well remembered by Aggie supporters. However, some of the statements he made on his Instagram story today may alter how A&M supporters view his time in College Station.

Taylor was a crucial component of the top-ranked 2022 class that ultimately burned out for the Aggies. Despite never being highly rated and unable to play due to injury, he was frequently regarded as the glue that brought all of the five-stars to College Station: a recruiter among the recruits.

That’s why viewers were sad to see him leave— However, it was understandable given the team change that Mike Elko had to deal with. Taylor’s Instagram story today, however, explains how he viewed things differently.

Bobby Taylor accuses Mike Elko and Texas A&M of forcing him out with eyebrow-raising charges.

Taylor’s current tale alludes at certain issues with the Aggies that are on his mind as he drives through College Station, claiming that the police had to walk him out of the previous Texas A&M game he attended. In a now-deleted post, he detailed his issues with the Aggies.

He initially assumes responsibility, stating that he grew too comfy and did not believe being cut could happen to [him], but it did.

I was cut two days after the spring game, at 6:30 a. m. That gave me around a week to join into the portal and commit, recovering from an injury and having no game footage. They had to respect my scholarship since I had no behavioral issues, but you can bet the NIL agreement was taken. I struggled so hard to break free from all of the labels they had placed on me, knowing that people only saw me as a recruiter, but all I wanted to do was hoop, man. Ultimately, however, I was unable to stop the [expletive], became terribly sad, and battled myself. They even made it difficult for me to earn the degree, forcing me to pay for courses while on the same scholarship in order to graduate. And as a last act of love, I asked the authorities to escort me out of Kyle Field as if I had done something wrong just because I wasn’t playing…

Taylor has made some very harsh accusations, and it appears that he believes Texas A&M has mistreated him. However, to some extent, that is life in high-level college football; clearly, he recognizes that he might have worked harder to stay on the squad. The police escort detail is perplexing; it appears that he attempted to enter a player-only area after leaving the squad and was dismissed—based on the circumstances surrounding his departure, this may be more or less heinous.

The scholarship issue is likewise confusing. Was the scholarship honored or not? He also implies that he would have had to commit from the portal within a week, when he just needed to get into the portal within a week and might have committed at any time after that.

Hearing about Bobby’s mental difficulties is heartbreaking, and no one wants him to go through that. It appears that he has emerged unscathed, since he says he has won in the same Instagram post.

When you’re on a high-level team like this, people may get burned from time to time, and you don’t like it when it happens to someone fans care so much about, but the truth occasionally hits in ways you didn’t expect. Best wishes for Bobby in the future.
