Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers are hectic arranging visits with recruits. After first scheduling a meeting with five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson, the Tigers will no longer conduct the trip because the Michigan Wolverines swooped in for their own visit.

According to reports, Dobson, the No. 6 overall recruit in the Rivals300 for the 2027 class, rejected his visit with LSU and instead visited Michigan from June 11-13, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals and On3 Sports. Although the Tigers are considered a top-two option for Dobson, he will meet with the Wolverines and head coach Kyle Whittingham instead.

“NEWS: Five-star CB Joshua Dobson will no longer make an official visit to LSU, he tells me for Rivals,” Fawcett said. “He’ll now visit Michigan between June 11 and 13,” according to reports. Dobson is ranked No. 6 on the 2027 Rivals300. “

Dobson is a 6-foot-1 cornerback who now attends William Amos Hough High School in Cornelius, North Carolina. Texas A&M, LSU, South Carolina, Auburn, and Clemson are now his top-five schools. However, Michigan’s official visit with Dobson indicates that the Wolverines may move up his list.

Despite Joshua Dobson’s departure from the Tigers, LSU continues to recruit strongly for the 2027 class. Lane Kiffin and the program have already secured one five-star recruit in tight end Ahmad Hudson. That’s in addition to four additional four-star commitments for the class.

While the program continues to emphasize recruiting, Kiffin will make certain that his squad is prepared for the 2026-27 season. LSU will open the season with a home-opener in Week 1, a “College GameDay” match against Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers.
