Isaac McNeil, a four-star linebacker, told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Friday about his top colleges and decision date, with the Florida Gators (Gators Fan Gear) among his final four. The highly rated linebacker will reveal his college choice on June 2, with Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida among his top four.
According to 247Sports, McNeil is the No. 87 overall prospect and the No. 6 linebacker in the 2027 class.
Based on On3’s RPM, Auburn is now the apparent leader in this group, and this belief is reinforced by how McNeil has planned his formal visits. McNeil will visit Auburn from May 29–31 before making a decision. Then, from June 11 through 13, he intends to travel to Florida after making his decision. Alabama will host next, with him visiting campus from June 19 to 21.
Although he has set these dates for his formal visits, it is unknown if he will follow through on his trip intentions once he commits.
The Gators have had a difficult time recruiting linebackers. Despite being ranked among the top ten teams in the nation for team recruiting rankings, the Gators have no linebackers committed.
However, they are in a strong position with various other linebacker prospects in the 2027 class. Swainsboro (Ga. ) four-star Ja’Bios Smith, Mobile (Ala. ) Williamson four-star Ellis McGaskin, and Canton (Ga. ) Sequoyah Drew Williams are all interested in Florida. Furthermore, Florida is among Smith’s top five schools and Williams’ top four.
Despite missing out on linebacker recruiting, Florida’s 2027 class has gotten off to a good start. Florida’s recruiting class is currently ranked fifth in the nation, according to the 247 Sports Composite, with 16 pledges heading into official visits.
