Leeds United could face a major challenge if they decide to pursue Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott this summer, with Daniel Farke potentially needing to make a convincing pitch to bring the England international to Elland Road.

The 23-year-old has returned to Liverpool following a frustrating loan spell at Aston Villa, where he struggled for regular playing time. His future at Anfield remains uncertain, and Leeds United have reportedly emerged as one of the clubs keeping an eye on his situation.

Elliott’s stock rose significantly after he played a key role in England’s success at the Under-21 European Championship. His performances highlighted the attacking midfielder’s creativity and ability to make an impact in the final third.

However, his opportunities at club level have been limited over the past two seasons. He found it difficult to establish himself under Liverpool head coach Arne Slot before his loan move to Aston Villa failed to provide the regular first-team football he was hoping for.

According to a report from The Yorkshire Post, Elliott is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs, with Leeds among the teams believed to admire his qualities.

If Leeds United decide to make a formal approach, Daniel Farke may have an important role to play in convincing Elliott that Elland Road is the right destination for the next stage of his career.

The biggest selling point could be regular first-team football.

After his disappointing experience at Aston Villa, Elliott will likely want assurances that he will be given a genuine opportunity to play consistently. Leeds could therefore look to offer him an important role in Farke’s plans as the club prepares for another Premier League campaign.

Lee Carsley previously described Elliott as an “explosive” player, and his performances for England’s Under-21s demonstrated why he remains highly rated.

Leeds United are expected to strengthen their squad following their return to the Premier League, and signing a player of Elliott’s potential could significantly improve Farke’s attacking options.

Meanwhile, Leeds are also being linked with a move for Midtjylland striker Franculino Dju. The Guinea-Bissau international enjoyed an impressive campaign, scoring 22 goals in 34 appearances for the Danish club.

However, despite reports linking Franculino with Leeds, the club are not believed to be actively pursuing a deal for the striker at this stage.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Lukas Nmecha and Joel Piroe currently providing Farke with options in the number nine position, Leeds could still make changes to their attacking department before the transfer window closes.
