Ipswich Town have reportedly entered the race to sign Rennes and Switzerland international striker Breel Embolo as the newly promoted Premier League club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.
According to reports from Get French Football News, Ipswich are among the clubs showing interest in the experienced centre-forward, who could be available this summer amid growing transfer speculation surrounding his future at Rennes.
The 29-year-old striker joined Rennes from Ligue 1 rivals AS Monaco last summer in a deal reportedly worth €13 million. However, his first campaign in Brittany produced mixed results, with Embolo finishing the season with 10 goals and three assists.
Despite those numbers, the Swiss international remains a highly experienced forward who has played at the highest level in European football. His physical presence, pace and ability to lead the line could make him an attractive option for Ipswich as they prepare for the demands of Premier League football.
Embolo also reportedly impressed on the international stage during the 2026 World Cup with Switzerland. The striker played an important role in his country’s run to the quarter-finals, contributing two goals and two assists before receiving a controversial red card against Argentina.
