Leeds United have reportedly emerged as an attractive destination for Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott, while goalkeeper Lucas Perri is closing in on a move to Torino after reportedly booking his medical this weekend.
According to Torino Granata, Perri’s departure from Leeds is progressing, with the Brazilian goalkeeper expected to join Torino on an initial loan deal that includes an option to buy.
The 28-year-old’s proposed move had raised some concerns after he missed Leeds’ final two friendlies during their pre-season tour of the United States because of a quad issue. However, the injury has reportedly cleared, paving the way for him to undergo his medical.
Perri’s expected exit comes after Leeds United completed the signing of James Trafford from Manchester City last week. Trafford’s arrival has given manager Daniel Farke another option between the posts and appears to have opened the door for Perri to leave Elland Road.
HARVEY ELLIOTT TO LEEDS UNITED?
While Leeds are preparing for changes in goal, the club could also be a potential destination for Harvey Elliott this summer.
The Liverpool midfielder is expected to leave Anfield after spending last season on loan at Aston Villa. His spell at Villa Park was affected by a clause that restricted his playing time as the club sought to avoid triggering an obligation to make the move permanent.
Elliott has since returned to Liverpool, but his future remains uncertain, with several clubs reportedly interested in securing his services.
Speaking on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, a source suggested that RB Leipzig remain the favourites to sign Elliott, although Leeds United could still provide a serious alternative.
The source said Leipzig are currently ahead in the race but acknowledged that Leeds could become an increasingly attractive option for the 23-year-old midfielder.
A move to Leeds would give Elliott the opportunity to remain in the Premier League while potentially playing a more prominent role. However, Leipzig could offer him the chance to continue his career outside England.
LEEDS UNITED TRANSFER PLANS TAKE SHAPE
With the new Premier League season only two weeks away, Daniel Farke’s Leeds squad is continuing to take shape.
The arrival of Trafford has already strengthened the goalkeeper position, while Perri’s expected departure could free up space in the squad and potentially provide Leeds with additional funds to pursue further transfers.
Elliott’s situation, meanwhile, remains one to watch. Although Leipzig are reportedly leading the race, Leeds United have not been completely ruled out.
With the summer transfer window still open, the possibility of Elliott arriving at Elland Road could develop further if Leeds decide to make a serious approach.
For now, Leeds United fans will have to wait for further developments on both Harvey Elliott and Lucas Perri, with the goalkeeper’s reported Torino medical potentially bringing one transfer saga to an end while another could be beginning.
