Strengthening the defensive line—particularly the pass rush—was a major focus for the Detroit Lions this offseason. Injuries plagued the team last season, but none were as significant as Aidan Hutchinson’s season-ending setback. Many fans expected the organization to make key acquisitions to bolster the pass rush for the upcoming campaign.

Myles Garrett and Maxx Crosby were two of the most sought-after defensive players potentially available for trade. Garrett even requested a move from the Browns, and Detroit was seen as a strong candidate to land either of the two stars. However, both defenders ultimately stayed with their respective teams, leaving the Lions without a marquee addition to their defensive front.
