The Detroit Lions are expected to focus on adding several defensive players during the upcoming NFL Draft, though safety is not likely to be a top priority. The team already boasts one of the league’s top safety duos with Kerby Joseph, who was named a First-Team All-Pro in 2024 after leading the NFL in interceptions, and Brian Branch, who earned a Pro Bowl spot in just his second season.

Despite this, Alabama safety Malachi Moore has expressed interest in joining the Lions, particularly in reuniting with his former college teammates. At the NFL Combine, Moore mentioned his desire to play alongside Branch and other former Alabama players on the Lions, saying, “It would be great to play with my guys Terrion and BB on the defensive side of the ball. We already had that great chemistry, and we come from the same lineage in college football, playing under Coach Saban. So, all of us are like-minded, and we’re still brothers to this day.”
