Atlanta Falcons HC Raheem Morris Send Strong Emotional Message to Morice Norris and the lions After Horrible Injury

Lions head coach Dan Campbell later confirmed that Norris was “breathing, talking, and showing some movement” but was being taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.

Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said the decision to suspend play after the incident was both immediate and obvious.

“It was that simple,” Morris stated. “It was the right thing to do — for the player, for his family, for both organizations. You don’t think twice in moments like that.”

Morris described the atmosphere on the field as deeply emotional, noting that both teams were visibly affected by what they had witnessed.

“It’s tough to even talk to those guys because they are so emotional about the game,” he said. “That was the ultimate show of respect right there from both teams. And you just have to pray for Morice Norris and his family.”

The Falcons coach acknowledged that while football is inherently physical, situations like Friday’s injury underscore the human side of the sport.

“At the end of the day, it’s about the person. It’s about making sure he’s OK and supporting everyone involved. We’ll keep him in our prayers.”

After the ambulance departed and both teams gathered near midfield, officials informed the crowd that the game would not resume. Players from both sidelines huddled in prayer, with several Falcons players walking over to comfort their Lions counterparts.

Morris closed his postgame remarks with a message that went beyond the competition on the scoreboard:

“I don’t have much to say, but just thoughts and prayers to Morice Norris and his family and everybody involved, including my team, the Lions, and Dan’s team.”

The NFL has yet to release an official update on Norris’s condition, but early indications from Campbell were cautiously optimistic. The Lions organization also issued a statement thanking the Falcons, stadium medical staff, and fans for their concern and support.
