A number of supporters brought up the topic of the USA Basketball women’s team, which is scheduled to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, with Caitlin Clark.

There were some raised eyebrows when the Indiana Fever rookie, who is the most well-known face in women’s basketball, was passed over.

It was the turn of the female members of Team USA to be disregarded in favor of other athletes and teams last night. In an exhilarating two-minute promotional video, global superstar Beyoncé honored numerous athletes who are traveling to Paris in an attempt to return home with a medal.

Some of the top athletes in the delegation are featured in the ad, including LeBron James, who is referred to as a legend in the clip, Simone Biles, Noah Lyles, Caeleb Dressel, Katie Ledecky, and Sha’Carri Richardson.

The USA Basketball women’s team, who are determined to capture a record-breaking eighth gold medal at this year’s Olympics, is not shown in the final moments of the commercial.

Fans expressed greater disapproval of this choice, with some even bringing up Caitlin Clark’s snub. One viewer said that the players on the team should be okay without being in this film if they were okay without the publicity Clark would have given them.

We are really disappointed that the women’s basketball team was left off the list. This shouldn’t come as a surprise because they have stated that they were content with little to no recognition after turning down the largest name in the sport. One fan questioned, “This is about winning gold, not being marketable, right?”

“No doubt they would be had they brought CC along,” one fan wrote.

More fans made fun of squad USA, claiming that NBC excluded them from the promo because of Caitlin Clark, while another fan made fun of the squad for trying to receive all the spotlight.

“But they wanted all the attention right? ” one fan said.

“Should’ve put @CaitlinClark22 on the team..,” one fan wrote.

Lindsay Whalen justifies Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark’s snub from Team USA

In an attempt to clarify the decision, former WNBA player Lindsay Whalen gave an explanation for why Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese were not selected for the USA Basketball women’s squad this season.

“The process of assembling this team takes four years…There are practices, training camps, Zoom calls, and a ton of other things that go into it, according to Whalen.

“It was just a lot of timing and availability … Caitlin, Angel, they are in college trying to win national championships and this group over here is practicing and training to win a gold medal,” said Whalen.

Angel Reese and Clark will probably bring home the gold in the future because she has already stated that she wants to touch each other during the next Olympics.
