The Detroit Lions have already experienced a number of modifications both on the sidelines and in the locker room, but their front office has just confirmed a significant departure.
The Lions will begin looking for a replacement for Team President and CEO Rod Wood, who has stated his intention to retire.
Wood said in a statement that he is proud of where the group is now in comparison to when he first joined 11 seasons ago. He also thanked the Ford family.
“I want to thank the Ford Family and ultimately all Lions fans for entrusting me to lead the Detroit Lions for the past 11 seasons,” Wood stated. “I am so proud of what we have accomplished during the past ten years, and it has been a pleasure for me to lead this group. ” I am very pleased with the direction in which I am leaving this company, under the able guidance of Sheila Hamp, Brad Holmes, and Dan Campbell.
Sheila Hamp, the Detroit Lions Principal Owner and Chair, stated, “The whole Ford family wants to express their gratitude to Rod for his dedication and commitment to the Detroit Lions and the city of Detroit. ” “During that time, Rod has been a trusted advisor and enthusiastic leader for our organization and the entire NFL, and he has set us up for a bright future. Although we will miss Rod, we are thrilled to collaborate with Russell Reynolds Associates to identify the future outstanding leader of our company.
