Carson Beck’s stint at Georgia ended very abruptly. He led the Bulldogs to the SEC Championship game in his second season as a starter, but he sustained a season-ending injury on the final play of the half, which proved to be the death knell for his career at Georgia.

Since transferring to Miami, Beck has said little about his final experience at Georgia, but he recently sat down with John Gruden to recount his final moments in the SEC Championship game against Texas.

After getting injured, Beck had no desire to return to the game. However, after Gunner Stockton was struck in overtime, he was asked to make one final snap, which turned out to be the game’s final play (and his Georgia career).

Kirby Smart asked Beck to take the snap despite being severely injured. He had no chance of tossing the ball, but he was certain he could hand it off, which he did, resulting in Georgia’s game-winning score.

At the time, Beck most likely knew this would be his final play as a Bulldog. After losing in the playoff to Notre Dame, he quickly declared for the NFL Draft, indicating the conclusion of his stay in Athens. He did, however, return to college to play for Miami, and his final snap is one that everyone will remember forever.

Since he left, Beck and Georgia have had their share of controversy. Georgia supporters rejoiced when things went wrong in Miami, and he even mocked UGA when the team lost to Ole Miss in the playoffs.

However, this video makes it clear that Beck loved his time in Georgia and has fond memories of his final moments as a Bulldog. So, while people enjoy to despise him, Beck will go down as a player. Fans were pleased to see play in Georgia.
