Halfway through the 2025 NFL season, the Indianapolis Colts appeared to be one of the top teams in the league, with many believing they could go all the way, led by stars Daniel Jones and Jonathan Taylor.
Unfortunately, after Jones suffered a season-ending Achilles injury, the Colts’ season went completely off the rails, with the team losing its final seven games of the 2025 campaign and extinguishing any chances of reaching the NFL playoffs.

Despite suffering an Achilles injury that will sideline him for an extended period, the Colts have pledged to veteran quarterback Jones with a two-year, $88 million deal.
With the Colts clearly committed in Jones going forward, backup quarterback Anthony Richardson wants to be transferred to get another chance to be a starter elsewhere.
On Monday, Colts general manager Chris Ballard provided an update on a prospective trade involving Richardson that had yet to materialize, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.
“We’ll see how things work out here over time,” Ballard said. “We’ve had some discussions with teams. So far, nothing has come to fruition. I’m pleased of his development, his progress. He’s had some terrible luck. We’ve seen it in this league before: something doesn’t work out one place, but then it does well somewhere else. We’ll see how things go with Anthony over the next month. “
The Colts management are in no hurry to trade Richardson and have apparently struggled to discover a suitable offer.
It will be interesting to observe whether anything changes in the coming months or perhaps prior to the 2026 NFL Draft, which begins on April 23.
Could the Colts trade for Myles Garrett?
The club may explore other game-changing trade possibilities between now and the start of the 2026 NFL Draft, including attempting to acquire Cleveland Browns superstar defensive end Myles Garrett, in addition to perhaps trading Richardson at some point.
