CeedDee Lamb has solidified his position as one of the top wide receivers in the NFL.
The Dallas Cowboys selected wide receiver CeeDee Lamb with the 17th overall pick in the first round four years ago. It was evident from the moment Lamb took the field for the first time that he would live up to the expectations placed on him.
Every key category for a receiver has seen statistical improvement from him every season, which is precisely what any team wants to see in a first-round pick.
Over the past few weeks, ESPN has been identifying the top 10 players at each position. It was the receivers on Wednesday, and Lamb was ranked fourth.
Our NFL polling group called its shot with Lamb.
Lamb placed 10th last year, surpassing players like Mike Evans, Tee Higgins, and Deebo Samuel. With a dominant performance, he proved that faith right, becoming the first Cowboys receiver to record 1,700 yards or more in a season.
Despite continual attention from defenses as the top option, he led the NFL in receptions (135) and was second in yards (1,749). Lamb had the second-most first downs in the NFL with 80 of his catches going for touchdowns.
“He was able to move around the formation more this year, specifically outside, and he consistently won in critical situations over the course of the year,” an NFL scouting director stated.
“He showed himself to be a versatile receiver. possesses excellent hands and a remarkable pace for his routes and setup, which causes difficulties for defensive backs.” With 680 yards after the catch to lead the NFL, Lamb is at his best when he has the ball in his hands.
Anyone who views this list and finds Lamb listed as low as 10, which is absurd, should raise an eyebrow. Though he led the team in targets, receptions, and yards after the catch (680),
Lamb maintains that no receiver was superior than him in 2023. Last season, Lamb also shattered the franchise marks set by Hall of Famer Michael Irvin for receptions and yards in a season.
Lamb performs at a high level whether playing in the slot or as an outside receiver, and his versatility lets the Cowboys to target the opposition in various ways. In 2024, anticipate another All-Pro year from Lamb if past performance is any guide.
