This cowboy is returning to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo after missing it last year due to injuries, and the Xtreme Bulls competitions pay nicely.
It’s Clayton Sellars again! In 2024, the 26-year-old bull rider is in good health and has found his stride. Sellars, who is now ranked fourth in the world standings, hopes to return to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
Sellars made the decision to give the Professional Bull Riders Association a full year of service in 2021 after sustaining injuries. Although he learned a lot and thought it was a positive experience for him, he is prepared to rejoin the PRCA in 2024.
He’s back. He is excited to visit the WNFR in December and witness the brilliant lights and enormous city of Las Vegas.
With his victory at the Spanish Fork Fiesta Days Xtreme Bulls in Utah, he increased his World Standings rank by about $15,000. It took Sellars the entire eight seconds to climb down on Frontier Rodeo’s Gladiator’s Hammer.
The reddish-brown bull has powerful maneuvers straight from the start with a distinctive right-handed spin. In an attempt to obtain the upper hand, he is kicking as high as he can with his head and reaching back.
However, Sellars prevailed in Spanish Fork, and his efforts were rewarded with a check for $14,923. Sellars had been on a bit of a dry streak after winning roughly $10,000 over the Cowboy Christmas period.
He broke through at Salinas, California; St. Paul, Oregon; and West Jordans, Utah. However, the Florida man made it all worthwhile by winning the Xtreme Bulls event with an 85.5-point ride.
But, Josh Frost, the top-ranked individual in the world standings for bull riding, was closing down on Sellars. Frost made a try to ride Come Get Sum from Championship Pro Rodeo, and he was successful.
He scored 85 points, which translated into $11,699 toward his current position. His $179,537 season earnings have already guaranteed him a seat at the 2024 NFR.
With a winning total of $160,404, Chase Dougherty is ranked second in the world standings, trailing only Frost by a margin of over $19,000. At $150,654, Creek Young is presently ranked third, and Sellars, the comeback kid, is next with $133,707.
