Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is not present at training camp. CeeDee Lamb, a star player for the Dallas Cowboys, is still holding out for a new deal.

Ezekiel Elliott offered some wise counsel. Lamb is searching for a new contract, hence he is not at training camp.

Elliott experienced a similar circumstance in 2019, which led to the ultimate negotiation of a six-year, $90 million contract extension for him. Lamb, an All-Pro receiver, has allegedly been receiving advice from Elliott to have “thick skink.”

According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, Elliott stated, “It’s really tough because you go through your first three or four years and you guys are on the same side, and this is the first time that now you’re kind of going against each other.”

It seems that you need to be a little thick-skinned. Though there are a few tiny extras that come with it, our ultimate objective is the same.

Lamb had a league-high 135 receptions for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns at the end of the previous campaign. Elliott doesn’t think Lamb’s absence from training camp will have an impact on his performance on the field.

Elliott stated, “CeeDee knows he has the team’s support behind him and the team understands that CeeDee needs to handle his business.” “Just stay in shape, which he appears to be doing, and be prepared to go as soon as the deal is completed.”

CeeDee Lamb’s Holdout Could Continue for Weeks

Cowboys veteran Ezekiel Elliott dropped some advice for CeeDee Lamb amid his holdout.

Lamb wants to be compensated similarly to some of the league’s best receivers. That follows an offseason in which a number of the top pass-catchers signed deals that set records.

With an average salary of $35 million per year, wide receiver Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings is now the highest paid non-quarterback. Lamb’s holdout may continue for several weeks while they decide on a landing point, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic via the Scoop City podcast.

“CeeDee Lamb will ask for the amount of money he believes he is entitled to. He’s holding out, then. Speaking with people, I don’t think this will be resolved in the coming days,” Russini stated on July 26.

“I believe this is something we will witness early in the following week, or even the week after. This isn’t one of those instances where I sense good feelings, indications, or an optimistic outlook from both parties. Simply put, it appears like the Dallas Cowboys will have difficulty getting there. Amidst his protest, Lamb has reportedly been exercising in Houston, according to NFL Network’s Jane Slater. Additionally, Slater revealed that Lamb had sent a message outlining his requirements for his future contract.

On July 25, Slater wrote, “CeeDee Lamb on his contract: ‘it just has to make sense,’ according to an informed source.”

“They tell me he weighs between 195 and 196 pounds. More rapid, larger, and explosive than in prior years. Slater stated, “I’ve been informed that he worked out for two hours and is still honing the specifics of his technique.

Cowboys Send New Offers to CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott

The Cowboys announced that they have extended new contract offers to CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott. Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott both received new contract offers from the Cowboys lately.

“As of right now, I would describe both conversations as positive,” Stephen Jones, the Chief Operating Officer of the Cowboys, stated on July 27. We’re having productive back-and-forth conversations with agents Tory (Dandy) and Todd (France). I enjoy where we are at now. The last year of Prescott’s contract is about to commence. He has been transparent about his predicament and the possibility of having to play for a different team in the event that an extension is not reached.

As of July 25, Prescott declared, “I want to be here.” But as you can see, all of the outstanding quarterbacks I saw had previous positions on other clubs. That’s not something to be afraid of, is my point in expressing that.

The Cowboys take on the Cleveland Browns on September 8 to kick off the season.
