Many of the league’s rookies will be able to contribute right away to their teams. Nonetheless, a few will become celebrities, and the followers of their franchise will adore them.
That might be Tyler Guyton of the 2024 NFL Draft class for Mike McCarthy’s Dallas Cowboys. His time playing football for TCU and Oklahoma is proof positive that he already knows how to win. Tyler Smith observed precisely that.
The Cowboys have to win this game right now. Before they start aiming higher, Mike McCarthy is only waiting on the contract extensions of important players like Dak Prescott and Micah Parsons.
This team is hoping to build on its successful start from the previous season, which saw them advance to the postseason. The Cowboys’ quest to accomplish that objective will heavily rely on Tyler Guyton, and he is already demonstrating why.
Initial thoughts after the first #Cowboys padded practice of training camp ⬇️
• Tyler Guyton looks like an All Pro. He handled Micah Parsons comfortably through out the day
• The entire OL as a whole is dominant. This may be a top 3 OL in football. Steele looks like he’s back… pic.twitter.com/F6g4shYoro

Via Nick Harris of the Cowboys, Tyler Smith detailed how excellent their rookie pick from the 2024 NFL Draft already is.
“I’ve been truly impressed,” he said about the former TCU and Oklahoma football star
Smith’s story did not finish there. He continued to explain why this monstrosity, who had previously worn the Sooners’ outfits and the Horned Frogs’ colors, was already a valuable member of McCarthy’s team.
“You don’t come across people who measure what they do very often. His height is 6’7”, 330, and he has light feet, so he can move freely and intimidate guys. The sky is the limit for him and his progress as he gains confidence and masters the playbook, among other things.
I will say this about him right away: he exudes confidence. He is aware of the rarity of the tools he possesses. It’s only a matter of time until he settles down and begins to perform at the very highest caliber possible. Smith continued.
Tyler Guyton before getting drafted by the Cowboys
Prior to being selected in the NFL Draft, Guyton required additional college opportunities to prove himself. He was once committed to the football program at TCU. In a two-year period, he would only appear in nine games, eight of which were as a sophomore. Due to his lack of playing time, he decided to join the Oklahoma football team. He experienced greater success with the Sooners.
He was a two-position player for Oklahoma. He was most successful at tackle in 2023, and in his senior year, he switched to playing offensive linemen. It was this impressive display of adaptability in the trenches that led the Cowboys to draft him. The most important thing was that he rarely appeared exhausted, and that was evident as well.
“He performed admirably. He managed to get through it. Everyone, myself included, was a little tired there, but he overcame it.
He performed admirably in terms of exerting effort and merely practicing his technique. In regards to Guyton, Smith declared that it was a solid day to build on.
