Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is left playing on an expiring contract because his front staff is hesitant to commit significant money to him long-term following another early playoff loss.
Prescott has watched several of his peers at his position land huge paydays this offseason. Marcus Spears, a former player who is now an analyst, stated he thinks Prescott will collect his money eventually, even if he has to travel outside of Dallas to do it.
When Spears recently appeared on ESPN’s “Get Up,” she stated that the Las Vegas Raiders would be happy to give Prescott $60 million annually and that he would be “the shining star of free agency for a number of teams” if Dallas allows him to enter the market.
In addition, Spears stated that if things don’t work out for Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, the Pittsburgh Steelers are probably a team that would be interested.

The only memory from the previous season that remains with fans is the crushing defeat in the playoffs against the Green Bay Packers, despite Prescott having had one of his best regular seasons ever with 36 touchdown passes and just nine interceptions.
The fact that other quarterbacks in Dallas are getting massive deals just makes matters worse because Prescott has had to watch after his peers—some of whom are probably better than him in the QB hierarchy—land deals worth $200 million or more one after another.
Given that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones recently discussed how costly it would be to extend the contracts of Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons, it doesn’t seem like a deal will be reached anytime soon. In many ways, this year is already defining Prescott’s future in Dallas.
