Owner of the Dallas Cowboys Jerry Jones stated on Thursday that he is not pressing to sign star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb to a new deal.
Jones stated, “I don’t have any urgency to get it done,” as reported by Jon Machota of The Athletic.
In a swift social media response, Lamb, who is presently waiting for a new contract, addressed Jones. Additionally, Lamb changed the word “America’s Team” in his X bio to “Eights.”

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported in late July that the two sides are “getting closer” to a new contract, even though things have plainly stalled now.
If Lamb and Dallas can’t come to an agreement before the start of the regular season, Lamb will play for the remaining $17.991 million of his rookie contract.
In the midst of his finest season to date, in which he led the league in receptions (135), recorded the second-highest receiving yards (1,749), and the third-most touchdowns (12), Lamb has expressed his desire for a new contract.
The Cowboys have a lot to consider this season when it comes to player compensation, but that season definitely merits a large salary.
In addition to Lamb, MVP-caliber quarterback Dak Prescott is nearing the end of his contract. Given that quarterbacks such as Trevor Lawrence, Jordan Love, and Tua Tagovailoa received contract extensions worth more than $50 million annually, Prescott may be eligible for a historic new deal.
Maybe Jones isn’t worried about closing Lamb’s contract quickly because of Prescott’s impending contract, but if the Cowboys don’t make their best wide receiver happy, they might not have him by this time next year.
