Lamb has not attended training camp, minicamp, or required workouts. CeeDee Lamb, a wide receiver with the Dallas Cowboys, has been absent from the team due to a holdout.
He has missed training camp, minicamp, and voluntary workouts while he looks for a new contract that may make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL.
There’s been noticeable friction between Lamb and Cowboys general manager Jerry Jones, which has raised questions about when the talented wide receiver will return to action for Dallas.
Micah Parsons of the Cowboys, however, is here to reassure everyone over Lamb’s condition.
According to the team’s website, the three-time Pro Bowler promised on Tuesday that Lamb will return to the field for the Cowboys when the team plays the Cleveland Browns in Week 1 of the 2024 season.
“CeeDee is a part of this brotherhood whether he likes it or not,” Parsons stated. “He is aware that he will not be leaving. Without a doubt, they will take care of the business aspect.

“On Week 1, he will be suiting up for the Dallas Cowboys. “After breaking Michael Irvin’s franchise record for the most receptions (135) and receiving yards (1,749) in a single season, Lamb, 25, is fresh off his best-ever campaign. In February, Lamb informed Parsons that his goal was to become one of the league’s “top-paid” receivers, if not the highest-paid.
Thus, Lamb—whose representative has been in talks with Dallas—may be able to earn as much as wide receivers Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings, who became the highest-paid wide receiver in the league in June by signing a $140 million contract extension, and Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Detroit Lions, who signed a $120 million contract back in April.
In 2024, Lamb’s rookie contract’s fifth-year option will pay him $17.99 million. On September 8, the Cowboys will play the Browns in Cleveland to kick off the 2024 season.
