Entering the last year of his rookie contract, Lamb has been holding out of training camp in search of a long-term deal. Although there has been a notable gap in his presence at camp, Jones is optimistic that a solution is imminent.

I think we can work things out,” Jones remarked. If we didn’t want CeeDee to be a long-term member of our team, we wouldn’t be here. All that needs to happen is for everything to line up.”
Although the specifics of the talks are still unknown, Lamb is currently on a $17.9 million fifth-year option. It is anticipated that the Cowboys are attempting to come to an agreement with Lamb that recognizes his value as one of the best receivers in the league.
Lamb’s market value has definitely grown after his career-best 1,749 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns on 135 receptions last season.
Lamb’s contract negotiations are probably influenced by Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson, who last summer set a new standard with a four-year, $140 million agreement.
Jones also talked about Lamb’s response to Lamb’s previous remarks that caused a stir on social media, as well as the situation’s possible effects on the squad. The urgency to complete the contract is growing as the Cowboys get ready for their last preseason game and get ready for their regular season opener on September 8 against the Cleveland Browns. Nevertheless, Jones is committed to making sure that both parties gain from the agreement.
“We’re having good talks, and I’m confident we’ll get there,” Jones said. It’s a process, and the conclusion must satisfy both parties. We’re giving this the proper amount of attention and priority, so I think a resolution will be reached shortly.”
For the time being, Lamb’s holdout will remain in effect until the start of the Cowboys’ season, so supporters will have to wait and watch. Though a timeframe is still unknown, it seems like both parties are dedicated to coming up with a solution.
