The Dallas Cowboys have made Miles Sanders a priority in terms of trade candidates.
By acquiring seasoned running back Miles Sanders from the Carolina Panthers, the Dallas Cowboys might bolster their backfield and add much-needed depth and experience. Sanders recently concluded an unsatisfactory rookie campaign with the Panthers.
He signed a $25.4 million, four-year deal that guaranteed $13 million in 2023. With the Philadelphia Eagles, Sanders enjoyed a Pro Bowl season in 2022, but he had trouble establishing himself in Carolina. In his first season, he averaged only 3.3 yards per carry and finished with 432 yards and 1 touchdown.
Sanders is now behind Chubby Hubbard on the depth chart and only saw action on 38% of the offensive snaps. The Cowboys’ running back committee consists of Royce Freeman, Rico Dowdle, and Ezekiel Elliott.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Dallas has put Sanders and Dalvin Cook on their “short list” of outside candidates to bolster the offense in case more strength is required.
According to Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report, the team should make a deal for Sanders because it would have an effect on the NFC East contest.
“The tires on Sanders should have more tread.” Ballentine stated on Sunday, August 18, “He’s two years younger and has a good reason for struggling behind Carolina’s offensive line.”
“He could probably be signed when the Panthers cut their roster to 53 or acquired for a low price in a trade.” In addition to his ability as a receiver, Sanders has amassed 4,140 yards and 21 touchdowns in his career.
