During the four weeks in Oxnard, the Dallas Cowboys’ offensive line, which included two rookies, was a major area of attention during training camp. Well, left tackle Tyler Guyton and center Coope Beebe depart Oxnard with the starting jobs firmly in their hands as the Cowboys return to The Star. Both have looked well in practice and in Dallas’ two preseason games, suggesting that the team’s tradition of selecting talented offensive linemen has carried over into the new campaign.
The two have improved to such an extent in Oxnard, right tackle Terence Steele is amazed with how each person conducts business. Steele declared, “I am really impressed with both of them.” “Just their readiness to show up with an open mind, no ego, and the desire to improve every day. They are asking all the vets, including Zack [Martin] and me, what our routine is and how we can assist them [be successful]. They are basically picking our brains. They are taking it all in like a sponge, so I am really impressed with both of them, and they will undoubtedly be crucial to our attack moving ahead.
Naturally, there was concern about the offensive line’s condition with the offseason departures of Tyler Biadasz (Commanders) and Tyron Smith (Jets), as well as several uncertainties over Dak Prescott’s protection in 2024. Well, that kind of anxiety is over. The way Guyton and Beebe have dominated the offseason is the reason for the confidence that permeates the atmosphere.
Even though it is only the preseason and every player appears to be a Pro Bowler under the bright Oxnard sun, Guyton and Beebe have had so many fantastic days that there is not much reason to be concerned about how they will perform in Week 1. And for two rookies, that, my friends, is a pretty amazing accomplishment.
