Star cornerback DaRon Bland of the Dallas Cowboys will be sidelined for the next six to eight weeks as a result of a stress fracture to his left foot. Bland, who was an All-Pro the previous season, will have surgery to fix the injury he suffered after the team’s penultimate preseason workout.
Jerry Jones, the general manager and owner of the Cowboys, voiced confidence despite the setback. He predicted that Bland’s absence would not cost the squad too many games because he might be back before the team’s bye week in mid-October.
Jones mentioned that the group will try to replace Bland’s injury with a number of youngsters who have shown promise during training camp.

Following his absence from the final fifteen games of the previous season due to an ACL tear, Pro Bowl cornerback Trevon Diggs will make his return to the Cowboys for the season opener against the Cleveland Browns. Alongside Diggs, Jourdan Lewis—who had a great preseason—is anticipated to play a bigger role in the secondary.
