3-time Pro Bowler with 4,516 yards and 36 touchdowns, Cowboys superstar signs with Jets in a mega trade proposal.”
Dak Prescott’s future with the Dallas Cowboys is uncertain, and the Pro Bowl quarterback could emerge as a viable option for the New York Jets if they decide to replace Aaron Rodgers next season.
Prescott is entering the final year of his contract with Dallas, and the two parties have yet to reach an agreement on an extension. He cannot be franchise-tagged and will be eligible for free agency next offseason if no agreement is struck.
According to Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox, the Jets are a top option for Prescott in free agency if he leaves Dallas after this season.
“We don’t know how Rodgers will perform in 2024 or whether the Jets would even want him back when the season is over. Rodgers could return to Pro Bowl form, but he’s coming off a ruptured Achilles and will be 41 in December.
“If things don’t go well for Rodgers this season, he, head coach Robert Saleh, and general manager Joe Douglas might all be gone by 2025. Prescott would most likely be at the top of a new regime’s wish list as a signal-caller.
Rodgers has a Hall of Fame resume but has played just four snaps in a Jets uniform.
Prescott is coming off a breakout season in which he finished second in MVP voting. He threw for 4,516 yards, 36 touchdowns, and nine interceptions.
