The Seattle Seahawks announced a few roster additions on Wednesday, September 4, including the acquisition of former Dallas Cowboys starter Quinton Bohanna. The 2024 NFL season has officially begun.
Bohanna Quinton to the Hawks
Bohanna and defensive end Kenneth Odumegwu were signed by the Hawks to their practice squad on Wednesday. The departure of lineman Max Pircher and defensive tackle Kyon Barrs from Seattle’s practice squad coincides with their signings.
In a September 4 story, Corbin K. Smith of Sports Illustrated wrote, “On Tuesday, during the team’s off day, both Bohanna and Odumegwu worked out for Seattle.” He continued by saying that they “had one vacancy and an exempted spot available to sign each player” following the release of Barrs and Pircher from the practice squad. Odumegwu takes over for Pircher as the team’s practice squad exemption for a 17th position because he is an International Pathway Player.
Kole Musgrove of USA Today’s Seahawks Wire mentioned in a different piece regarding the deal that the Hawks had joint practices to assess what Bohanna could add to the squad.
During their joint workouts, the Seahawks had a close-up look at Bohanna, more evidence that the preseason is not just an opportunity to showcase yourself to your team but also to all other teams in the league. Bohanna has so far in his career totaled 39 tackles, according to Musgrove’s statement in the September 4 article.
Bohanna and the present coaching staff of the Seahawks are somewhat related because the defensive tackle played for Aden Durde, the current defensive coordinator for Seattle, while he was a member of the Cowboys defensive line.
The NFL History of Quinton Bohanna
Bohanna was chosen by the Cowboys with the 192nd overall pick in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL draft. On May 13, 2021, they signed the defensive tackle to a rookie contract that will last four years. Bohanna played in 14 games and started one in the 2021 campaign. Bohanna participated in 13 games and started nine of them the next season. In addition to two quarterback pressures, he recorded 20 tackles.
In August 2023, Bohanna was waived by the Cowboys. SportDFW.com’s Jason Schandl stated at the time that Bohanna was a “fan favorite.”

Fans adore him for having a terrifyingly strong monster in the middle, and Schandl continued, saying that his stature and strength inspired hope for his future. However, he could not demonstrate enough progress in actual game action during preseason.
Bohanna was a player for the Tennessee Titans and Detroit Lions in the 2023 season. During the season, he made six appearances, starting three against the Titans and Lions.
Bohanna was identified by Titan Sized’s Ryan Heckman as a player on the “roster bubble” back in May of this year.
In the article published on May 8, he stated, “Tennessee made a statement when they drafted T’Vondre Sweat in the second round.” “He will immediately step into a starting role, displacing Quinton Bohanna and Keondre Coburn by one spot each.”
