With his four-year, $240 million contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott becomes the highest-paid player in NFL history. You can watch the Cowboys play the Cleveland Browns live on Sky Sports NFL starting at 9:25 p.m.

With the Dallas Cowboys agreeing to a new four-year, $240 million contract extension, Dak Prescott will become the highest-paid player in NFL history.

Just hours before the Cowboys’ season-opening game against the Cleveland Browns, Prescott’s contract deal was announced. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Sunday, it contained a $80 million signing bonus in addition to $231 million in guaranteed money.

The Cowboys tie down another of their valued assets with this deal, locking Prescott in Dallas through the 2028 campaign. Prior to the start of the current campaign, they gave standout wide receiver CeeDee Lamb a four-year, $136 million contract.

Prescott will become the highest-paid player in the NFL based on yearly salary thanks to his new contract, surpassing that of Trevor Lawrence, Jordan Love, and Joe Burrow.

With 36 touchdown passes, the 31-year-old led the league’s top-ranked scoring attack and came in second in the MVP vote the previous season.
