How the Dallas Cowboys’ running back situation would play out in the regular season has taken up a large portion of the offseason. The Cowboys crushed the Cleveland Browns 33–17, with Rico Dowdle and Ezekiel Elliott carrying the majority of the weight as predicted. Rico ran for 26 yards on eight carries, while Zeke gained 40 yards and a touchdown on ten carries. That is not too shabby, though, especially in light of the second-half game script that had Dallas leading 27-3Elliott loved the way things worked out, though, even so. “I think it works really well,” Elliott remarked. “I believe it will go on in the same manner; the second half was probably a little difficult for us because we could not really get anything going.” That is just the way the game played, but I believe that in the third quarter, I was on the field for maybe two or three plays. Rico and I will both gain momentum if we execute our offensive game plan and maintain drives.” Similar to 2022, when Elliott and Tony Pollard divided the burden, the Cowboys in 2024 are likely to utilize a variety of running backs, possibly including Dalvin Cook. In at one point. The Cowboys were cruising when things went a bit sideways

Elliott appeared to be back after his hurdle on the first play of the game, while Dowdle had some nice bursts on a number of his runs. Given that it is only one game, we should not get too excited, but the Cowboys’ run game showed promise. We will now see if it holds true on Sunday when we play the New Orleans Saints.
