On Sunday afternoon in Arlington, Texas, the visiting New Orleans Saints trounced the Dallas Cowboys 44-19 thanks to four touchdowns from Alvin Kamara, including one of Derek Carr’s two scoring throws.

On the opening play of New Orleans’ second drive, Carr connected with Rashid Shaheed for a 70-yard touchdown throw, finishing 11 of 16 passes for 243 yards. Following a 47-10 victory over Carolina in their season opener, Kamara led the Saints (2-0) with 115 running yards and 65 receiving yards.

The Cowboys (1-1) were unable to stay up with New Orleans and had to settle for field goals on four of their scoring drives. Dak Prescott tossed for 293 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.

During the regular season, the Saints interrupted Dallas’ 16-game home winning run by scoring touchdowns on their first six possessions.

The hosts drove 51 yards on the opening play of the third quarter, setting up Brandon Aubrey’s 40-yard field goal to cut New Orleans’ lead to 35-19.

The Saints scored their sixth touchdown in a row on Kamara’s subsequent 7-yard touchdown run. The game was tied at 19 points going into the fourth quarter after the attempt at an extra point was blocked.

The team’s starting offense had been on a 15-possession scoring streak until Carr’s interception in the fourth quarter. Blake Grupe closed the scoring with a 26-yard field goal later in the quarter.

After taking the opening kickoff, New Orleans went 80 yards, with Kamara’s touchdown run accounting for the final five of that distance.

Aubrey stopped the Cowboys’ first possession with a 52-yard field goal, but Carr and Shaheed, who had previously connected for a 59-yard touchdown in the first game, connected again for a 14-3 lead that lasted until the end of the first quarter.

Early in the second quarter, Aubrey added a 38-yard field goal. However, four plays later, Kamara scored a touchdown with a 57-yard pass from Carr, giving the team a 21-6 lead.

Dallas responded with a 65-yard pass from Prescott to CeeDee Lamb for their lone touchdown.

After Kamara ran a 12-yard touchdown run, the score was 28–13. Carr’s one-yard touchdown run was made possible by Paulson Adebo’s 47-yard return of the intercepted Prescott.

With two minutes remaining in the second quarter, Aubrey made a 48-yard field goal, giving the Saints a 35-16 advantage at the break.
