On Thursday, the Dallas Cowboys defeated the New York Giants 20–15 on the road to win their sixth straight game. Impressive performance by quarterback Dak Prescott saw him complete 22 of 27 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns, including a first-half 55-yard touchdown pass to CeeDee Lamb. The Cowboys’ defense, meanwhile, held firm, allowing just five field goals.

Overall, the Giants played better than the Cowboys, surpassing them in total yards, passing yards, and first downs. They had possession for more than 35 minutes, and they also controlled the game. They were only able to convert five field goals, including two in the red zone, as a result of their inability to convert opportunities into touchdowns.

The first half of New York’s drive following the break was lackluster. Despite moving 77 yards in 11 plays over 6 minutes and 18 seconds, the Giants decided against going for it on fourth and goal from the three-yard line, instead settling for a short field goal. They only managed three more points for the remainder of the half, so this choice proved expensive. Despite New York’s dominance in the passing game, the Cowboys were only able to gain 1.1 yards per run on the ground.

Dallas scored both touchdowns in the first half and added two field goals in the second. Late in the fourth quarter, kicker Brandon Aubrey made two of three field goals, missing his first attempt from more than fifty yards. Two important players left the game in the last quarter: rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers of New York was knocked out immediately after Cowboys defensive end Micah Parsons was taken off after becoming tangled with offensive linemen during a third-down rush.
