Wide receiver Davante Adams has requested a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders, sparking a flurry of trade ideas for the six-time Pro Bowler.

Given that Adams is 31 and will turn 32 on Christmas Eve, it seems logical for him to join a team that can compete for a Super Bowl title with his talent.

Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin recently stated on Fox Sports 1’s “Speak” that his former team should pursue Adams with “everything they’ve got.”

Though Adams’ stats have dipped since last season, it’s likely in part due to the poor quarterback performance the Raiders have endured.

As recently as 2022, Adams recorded 1,516 yards and a league-leading 14 receiving touchdowns with the Green Bay Packers, earning his latest Pro Bowl selection.

The Cowboys, now 2-2, face multiple challenges, including the need for a true No. 2 receiver behind CeeDee Lamb.

Brandin Cooks, acquired last offseason, was expected to fill that role, but after a disappointing season, he has only nine receptions for 91 yards this year.

One thing Dallas should consider is Adams’ timeline, which differs from their core stars.

Lamb, pass rusher Micah Parsons, and cornerbacks Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland are in their mid-20s, and though quarterback Dak Prescott is 31, he could still have several productive years ahead.

However, wide receivers often don’t last as long as quarterbacks, and the price to acquire Adams may be too high for the Cowboys given the limited years he has left.
