The Dallas Cowboys offense is set to face one of its toughest challenges of the season against the formidable Pittsburgh Steelers defense in a highly anticipated NFL showdown, marking the first time these two teams will meet on a Sunday night.
As two of the NFL’s most iconic teams, and the most popular among Latino fans, the Cowboys and Steelers will square off at the Steelers’ home stadium on Sunday at 8:20 p.m. Eastern. Their rivalry, which has seen them meet in three Super Bowls, features two of the league’s winningest franchises.
Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, who signed a record-breaking $240 million, four-year contract at the start of the season, has led his team to a 2-2 record so far.
Prescott understands the weight of the expectations on his shoulders and the pressure on the offense.
“I Don’t Have to Be Superman”
When asked if he feels like he needs to play like Superman and carry his team, Prescott said he aims to make big plays but won’t force anything beyond the playbook.
“I’m not going to go out there and feel like I need to be Superman. I’ve been able to escape some sacks and make plays, but I haven’t done anything out of the ordinary, and I don’t need to force it,” said Prescott, who has completed 96 passes for 1,072 yards and six touchdowns in four games.
The Steelers defense ranks fourth this season, allowing just 261.3 yards per game and racking up 11 sacks, three of which came from the dangerous T.J. Watt.
“I’m just going to go out there and do my best. If I do that and the team does the same, I believe we can get the job done. I’m not worried about the results,” Prescott added.
Watt Ready to Challenge Cowboys
On the Steelers’ side, T.J. Watt acknowledged the challenge of facing a Cowboys offense packed with talent at key positions.
“They’re explosive. Obviously, CeeDee Lamb, Jake Ferguson, their running backs, and Dak (Prescott)—they do a lot of great things. They’ve got an established offensive line, plus the rookies,” Watt explained.
“They can score quickly, so we have to focus on stopping their momentum and go from there,” he added.
