Even though it might be challenging for spectators to keep their emotions in check during NFL games, the players on the field must experience it more intensely. Following Dak Prescott’s game-winning touchdown pass, one official in the Dallas Cowboys’ Week 5 triumph over the Pittsburgh Steelers very painfully discovered as much. With 20 seconds left, Prescott led the Cowboys on a 15-play, 70-yard drive that culminated in the game-winning touchdown pass on fourth-and-four. Jalen Tolbert pulled in the throw, which came just two plays after Prescott prevented the Cowboys from losing the game with 35 seconds remaining by recovering Rico Dowdle’s fumble on second-and-goal.
After the touchdown, Prescott was understandably pleased and started punching the air, but as one perspective depicts, he almost knocked out one official with his celebration blow.
Prescott got so close that the referee leaped back and tried to hide his face with his hands. He can be seen in the lower right corner of the video.
