The Dallas Cowboys’ 2024 season is not getting off to the best of starts.

With a 3-3 record, they recently suffered one of the worst defeats in the team’s history—the Detroit Lions (47-9 in Week 6—in their previous game.

Owner Jerry Jones is not planning to give up despite the difficult start.

Former XFL defensive tackle Jalen Dalton was recently signed by the Cowboys, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston.

Dalton played for four NFL clubs in five years prior to joining the Seattle Sea Dragons and San Antonio Brahmas of the XFL.

The North Carolina product played mainly on the practice squad for the Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons, and Carolina Panthers between 2019 and 2023.

Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence are two Cowboys players who have been battling ailments up front and are both working to return to the game.

Dalton might be able to contribute to Mike Zimmer’s defense in the interim.

The journeyman has made 13 NFL tackles in his career, including one in 2022 with the Falcons, and he has persisted in working hard to get another chance.

It could be just the right amount of energy the Cowboys need to make a change.

Perhaps if they adopt the persona of a player who has persevered in fighting for his opportunity, they might become slightly more resilient. After their bye in Week 8 against the San Francisco 49ers, only time will tell if Dalton is able to have an influence or not.
