The Dallas Cowboys offense has lacked consistency through six weeks, with one main reason being the uneven performances of Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb.

In 2023, Dak and CeeDee were so in sync that Lamb set franchise records for receptions and yards, while Prescott nearly won the MVP award.

But in 2024, through six games, the duo seems out of sync.

Miscommunications have led to interceptions or missed opportunities, turning potential completions into incompletions, and sparking frustration on the sidelines.

Despite this, receivers coach Robert Prince doesn’t seem too concerned about Dak and CeeDee’s current disconnect.

“There are many factors, but with CeeDee, we knew he’d be ready,” Prince said. “He works hard off the field, and he practices intensely. For some reason, certain things just haven’t worked out yet, but I don’t think it will be an ongoing issue.”

“Some of the things haven’t worked” is an honest self-assessment. While some believe Lamb’s absence from training camp is to blame, he’s still posted decent yardage without recording a 100-yard game this year.

Lamb has yardage totals of 61, 90, 67, 98, 62, and 89, but it’s clear the chemistry between him and Dak needs improvement.

Why? That’s unclear. But perhaps Troy Aikman’s criticism of Lamb and his fellow receivers as “terrible” and “lazy” holds some truth.

With the Cowboys on their bye week, this is the perfect time to resolve these issues and get Dak and CeeDee in sync. The Cowboys’ season hinges on their connection.

If they can’t fix it, the next stretch of games could end Dallas’ playoff hopes.
