Dak Prescott’s situation this season has not been particularly favorable. Before playing for a team that seems unprepared to win, the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys had to wait until the last minute of the offseason to receive his well-earned contract extension. With a 3-3 record going into the bye week, the Cowboys struggled and suffered an unlucky number of injuries. Though not ideal considering their three straight 12-5 seasons, they are not writhing in agony either.
Prescott and Dallas have a fantastic opportunity as they wrap up their week off. They were playing the San Francisco 49ers in the Bay Area once more. However, the renowned enemy will not have its arsenal of standard weapons to destroy the Cowboys. Brandon Aiyuk is now gone for the season due to rips in his ACL and MCL, while Christian McCaffrey is probably going to stay out due to an Achilles injury. George Kittle has also appeared with a sprained foot, and Deebo Samuel is battling pneumonia.
All of a sudden, the Cowboys’ opponent has a number of weaknesses. However, the 49ers’ injury problems will not be the only factor in this game. To win another game on the road, Prescott and the Cowboys will have to perform.
Prescott has not given Dallas much to cheer about in his recent appearances at Levi’s Stadium. He has completed 37 of 61 passes for 359 yards, two touchdowns, and five interceptions in his last two outings. Simply said, even against a limited Niners team, Dallas’ combination of low offensive production and numerous turnovers will not work. This Dallas team needs a spark since Prescott has not made an impression this season. Although it appears that it would not be the case, it was hoped that it would come from somewhere to support their quarterback’s efforts.
Prescott, who is currently the most paid quarterback in league history, has an opportunity to step up and lead the team to success. In recent years, San Francisco has been the bully obstructing the Cowboys, regardless of how people currently view the city. For this club going into a difficult period in their schedule, a victory of any kind on Sunday night would be absolutely enormous.
