A lot of people thought the NFC North team discreetly rubbed things in when the Detroit Lions crushed the Dallas Cowboys 47-9 in a Week 6 game. Jared Goff has acknowledged this.
On Wednesday night, Goff appeared as a guest on Scott Van Pelt’s “SportsCenter.” Van Pelt questioned the quarterback for the Lions over the overwhelming win over Dallas. Van Pelt specifically questioned whether the Lions had gone over and above in the game to make fun of Dallas for what had happened the previous season.
In fact, Goff acknowledged that the Lions might have taken certain actions to make up for the previous season.
“You know, if the game become what it became, there might have been a little bit more for fun. We have previously placed (Dan) Skipper outside. He had previously done that before. However, I believe that there was a small part of us that wanted to perhaps have some fun with it since we felt like the play to Decker last year and were on the wrong side of that call,” Goff said.
In that game, the Lions had tried a 2-point conversion to take the lead against the Cowboys, but the officials waved the play off, claiming that Taylor Decker of Detroit had not reported in as an eligible receiver. The Lions undoubtedly had it in mind, as evidenced by Based on their play on the opening play of the game and their actions at the conclusion of their victory in Week 6 of this season, the Lions clearly had it in mind. Goff has attested to it.
