The 49ers Faithful weren’t the only ones thrilled to hear Cowboys’ All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons will sit out of Dallas’ game against San Francisco this weekend on “Sunday Night Football.”
Coach Kyle Shanahan playfully admitted to a mini-celebration upon finding out the 49ers wouldn’t need to prepare for the two-time First-Team All-Pro edge rusher.
“I just heard that on my way here, so I did a small celebration before walking in,” Shanahan shared with reporters on Friday. “That’s all. It helps, but there are still plenty of challenges. He’s an incredible player.”

“It helps.”
Parsons is one of the NFL’s most disruptive defensive forces, with two All-Pro selections, three Pro Bowl appearances, and an NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year title since being drafted 12th overall in 2021.
The 25-year-old’s absence is a significant setback for Dallas, which has dropped its last three games against San Francisco, starting with the 2021 NFL playoffs.
As Brock Purdy and the 49ers offense aim to bounce back, not having Parsons to deal with could boost San Francisco’s chances of winning.
