Star pass rusher Micah Parsons‎ will be out for another game with the Dallas Cowboys due to a high ankle sprain, while All-Pro cornerback DaRon Bland will have to wait at least another week for his season debut.
Both players were officially ruled out on Friday for the Sunday night game against San Francisco. This marks Parsons’ third straight game missed, marking the first injury setback of his career.
Bland is currently on injured reserve after having surgery late in the preseason for a stress fracture in his foot. Last year, the third-year player set an NFL record with five interception returns for touchdowns.
With Parsons unavailable, the Cowboys (3-3) will be without their top two pass rushers for the third consecutive game.
DeMarcus Lawrence is also on injured reserve due to a foot injury.
Parsons injured his ankle during a 20-15 win over the New York Giants and has missed games against Pittsburgh and Detroit since then. The only other game he sat out was due to COVID-19 in 2021 when he was named AP Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Linebacker Eric Kendricks and rookie cornerback Caelen Carson are both listed as questionable for the matchup against the 49ers (3-4) due to shoulder injuries. Kendricks has already missed one game, while Carson has been out for three games. Carson stepped in for Bland at the beginning of the season.
