The Dallas Cowboys are certainly in the conversation as the 2024 National Football League trade deadline approaches.
Currently sitting at 3-4, Dallas is gearing up for a challenging Week 9 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. With the trade deadline looming on November 5, teams are already making significant moves instead of waiting until the last minute.
The activity won’t slow down until after the deadline passes. The Cowboys are a team to keep an eye on, as they may look to acquire key players while also trading some away to recover draft picks.
Cody Williams from FanSided has proposed that quarterback Trey Lance could be a trade option with the Las Vegas Raiders.
“After watching the 49ers dominate the Cowboys for over three quarters, there must be a clear plan in Dallas,” Williams stated. “Honestly, given the results, it’s hard to argue that the strategy shouldn’t involve soft selling.
“While Jerry Jones may have a different perspective, the most sensible approach would be to explore the trade market for Trey Lance.
Brandin Cooks is also an intriguing option, but Lance’s youth and potential might appeal more to teams like the Raiders or Tennessee Titans, who are looking for long-term quarterback solutions. Additionally, this could help regain some draft capital from the questionable trade that brought him in.”
Lance currently lacks a clear path to playing time with the Cowboys, making a trade sensible at this juncture for any return.
