Micah Parsons, an edge rusher for the Cowboys, denied that his postgame remarks on Sunday were a jab at coach Mike McCarthy.

On his podcast, The Edge with Micah Parsons, Parsons stated, “I never once threw, or even intended to throw, Mike McCarthy under the bus.” The inquiry concerning the Dallas Cowboys and this place. Did I glimpse our future in Mike McCarthy? “That is above my pay grade,” I remarked.

Parsons was not happy with how his remarks were misconstrued by critics.

After a fourth straight defeat, he was asked about McCarthy’s future and responded that he was not very worried about the coaches’ future.

Parsons remarked, “That is above my pay grade, about if Mike’s coaching again next year,” following the Cowboys’ 34-6 loss to the Eagles. Regardless of coaching, Mike is free to travel wherever he pleases. I feel sorry for men like [right guard] Zack Martin and those who may be nearing the end of their career because that is who I intended to present the trophy to.

The kind of legends who work harder and put in more time than Mike McCarthy ever did are the ones you want to win games and accomplish great things with. I therefore feel a great deal of hurt and sorrow for such kinds of guys.

Parsons has apologized for his postgame remarks, which McCarthy said he and Parsons discussed on Monday.

The Cowboys are anticipated to move on after this season, and McCarthy and the rest of the coaching staff are in the last year of their contracts.
