In the aftermath of a break-in that resulted in the theft of around $40,000 worth of items from his fiancée Sarah Jane Ramos’ car, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is prioritizing the safety of himself and his family. The incident occurred while Ramos’ car was parked outside a Pilates studio in Dallas.
This theft is part of a broader pattern where high-profile athletes, such as Luka Dončić, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Jason Kelce, Bobby Portis, and Mike Conley, have also been targeted in similar robberies. Prescott, however, does not want to link this event to the recent rash of incidents involving other athletes, though he acknowledges the need for enhanced security.
“I don’t want to connect this situation to other recent events,” Prescott stated. “Her car was broken into at a Pilates studio. Who knows how often this happens? That’s just what it is. As for protecting our home and family, I’ll take all the necessary steps to ensure our safety and avoid similar incidents.”
Prescott further emphasized that being a public figure comes with its own set of challenges, stating, “For anyone with a high-profile status, it’s unfortunate, but we must do what we can to safeguard ourselves and our loved ones.”
As for Prescott’s own season, it came to an early end after he suffered a significant hamstring injury requiring surgery. He admitted that this was a disappointing and frustrating year for both him and his teammates, who will miss out on the playoffs. “Nobody expects to lose,” he reflected. “You always plan for the playoffs and for winning the division. This season is tough and frustrating.”
Before the injury, Prescott had accumulated 1,978 passing yards with 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
