The Dallas Cowboys have added former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Luq Barcoo to their practice squad. Barcoo, who was released by the Steelers in June after dealing with an injury, has not been with any team since. He joined the Steelers in May 2023, spending the entire year on their practice squad before being re-signed for the offseason. However, a setback during the team’s offseason training hindered his chances of making the roster.

Now, with just one week remaining in the regular season, the Cowboys have taken a chance on Barcoo, likely signaling that he will be offered a future contract once the season concludes. This would allow him the opportunity to compete for a roster spot during next year’s training camp.

Barcoo went undrafted in 2020 after playing at San Diego State and has bounced around several NFL teams, including the New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, and Kansas City Chiefs. He made his way back into the NFL after showcasing his skills with the San Antonio Brahmas in the XFL.
