The Dallas Cowboys are nearing the end of their season, with their final game against the Washington Commanders approaching. However, the team’s performance against the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday left a noticeable impact, including financial penalties for some players. Receiver Jalen Brooks and cornerback Troy Pride were fined for their roles in a late-game fight, with Brooks receiving a fine of $5,083 and Pride $5,198. Both were ejected. Additionally, defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa faces a fine of $16,883 for a late hit on Eagles quarterback Kenny Pickett, while guard Tyler Smith was fined $11,817 for hitting defender Jalen Carter in the head.

Despite these setbacks, the Cowboys are moving forward with their preparations for Sunday’s finale, and quarterback Trey Lance is expected to be included in the game plan. The team has also signed former Steelers cornerback Luq Barcoo to the practice squad, potentially in response to the injury of cornerback Kemon Hall, who has been placed on injured reserve. Other injured players include Chuma Edoga, Mazi Smith, Nick Vigil, and Donovan Wilson, while Micah Parsons, recovering from a wrist issue, participated fully in practice and is ready for the game.

Meanwhile, questions about head coach Mike McCarthy’s future loom, as his contract expires after this season. Reflecting on the possibility of Sunday being his final game with the Cowboys, McCarthy, 61, shared his emotional connection to AT&T Stadium, where he won a Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers in 2010. Though he’s not focused on the future at the moment, he admitted to being keenly aware of the situation.
