The Dallas Cowboys ended the 2024 NFL season with a 7-10 record and are now searching for a new head coach for the 2025 season. Mike McCarthy was let go as head coach, and many are pointing fingers at owner Jerry Jones for the decision.
It will be intriguing to see how the Cowboys handle the offseason this year. They didn’t make many moves in the previous offseason, and there’s a chance they will be more active this time around.
CBS Sports Projects Cowboys to Select Tight End Tyler Warren in 2025 NFL Mock Draft
CBS Sports writer Chris Trapasso recently released his 2025 NFL Mock Draft. With the Cowboys picking 12th overall, he predicts they will select Penn State tight end Tyler Warren. Warren is considered the top tight end in this draft class. Trapasso mentioned:
“If he can’t pick Jeanty, I still expect Jerry Jones to want to make a splash in Round 1, and the 6-foot-6, 260-pound Tyler Warren with impeccable receiving skills would be just that.”
Many believe the Cowboys might select Ashton Jeanty with the 12th pick if he’s available. However, in this mock draft, Jeanty is taken 10th by the Chicago Bears. The Cowboys are in desperate need of both a starting tight end and running back.
Tyler Warren is 6’6″ and weighs 257 pounds. In the 2024 season with Penn State, he caught 104 passes for 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 11.9 yards per catch. He also rushed for 218 yards on 26 carries and scored four touchdowns, averaging 8.4 yards per carry.
Jake Ferguson served as the Cowboys’ starting tight end last season. If Dallas drafts Tyler Warren, he would be a significant upgrade for quarterback Dak Prescott in the 2025 NFL season.
